Katiak :  Accesibilidad

The Katiak website: has been developed according to specifications to ensure accessible design and programming, with the aim of facilitating access to the biggest number of users as possible.

The specifications used are those which are recommended by the WCAG /WAI of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), an international community that develops standards to ensure the long-term growth of the Web.  Throughout the process of designing the website we have endeavoured to ensure the widest accessibility possible by following these recommendations (level AAA).

Similarly, the source code used on our website has been developed using XHTML and CSS technologies, as recommended by W3C for the correct independent visualisation of the browsing devices and an appropriate separation between style and content.

Direct accesses and keyboard shortcuts:

Some keyboard shortcuts have been included for fast, easy access to the key points on the different pages in the site. In general, combining the "alt" key with another one (from the list shown below) will take us to a specific option. The "alt" key appears on PCs; Mac computers have an action key (normally next to the space bar) which has the same function.  In computers using Firefox it is necessary to use the “shift” key with the “alt” key.

  • ALT + 1 -> Home
  • ALT + 3 -> Site map
  • ALT + 8 -> Terms and conditions for web users
  • ALT + 9 -> Contact us
  • ALT + 0 -> Accesibility information
  • ALT + S -> Direct access to page contents

It is also possible to move from link to link using the “tab” key, and from field to field in the forms.

Other aspects:

All the font sizes and sizes for other elements on the site have been implemented using relative units. In this way, it is possible to modify the size using each browser's commands. As well as using the corresponding menus, this function can be used directly with the following shortcuts:

  • Internet Explorer:  “Control” and the mouse wheel.
  • Mozilla Firefox:  “Control” and the mouse wheel, “Control” + “–“ or Control + “+”
  • Opera:  “Control” and the mouse wheel, “Control” + “–“ or Control + “+”
  • Netscape:  “Control” + “–“ or Control + “+”
  • Safari:  “Command” + “–“ or “Command” + “+”

Accesibility exceptions :

Despite these measures, if you should have accessibility problems or would like to have a comment or suggestion you’d like to make on this subject, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
